This post goes along with the previous one about mash ups. There is a site on the web called splice music that allows users to create their own songs from other user created content. The program runs off of your browser and does not require any installation, which makes it easy to work on your songs anywhere. The site takes a little getting used to, but their are great tutorials on the site, and the community is always happy to help newcomers. I've messed around with the site a little, but I stopped using it because I got a new program called Tracktion that does the same thing, only it is more powerful and allows you to mix any song. Still, if you are interested in learning how to create mashups, this site is a great starter.
